Perceptions of Community Welcoming: Measuring Individuals’ Experiences and Satisfaction with Services in Timmins

This paper explores and measures individuals’ experiences and satisfaction with services and support in Timmins, to guide population attraction and retention efforts. Findings revealed that overall individuals are satisfied with these services, and nearly all respondents who identified as immigrants had had no difficulty accessing them. Although less than three-quarters of respondents were satisfied with their employment situation. This should be explored further given that it is primarily economic factors that contribute the most to making individuals feel welcome in Timmins.
