Perceptions of Community Welcoming: Measuring Individuals’ Experiences and Satisfaction with Services in North Bay

This paper explores and measures individuals’ experiences and satisfaction with services and support in North Bay, to guide population attraction and retention efforts. Findings revealed that overall individuals are satisfied with these services, although one-quarter of respondents who identified as immigrants had difficulty accessing them. The greatest opportunities for improvement would be in healthcare, public transportation, and diversity and inclusion services. Likewise, individuals are satisfied with their employment situation. And it is primarily economic factors that contribute the most to making individuals feel welcome in North Bay.
